Barbara Ann Corcora

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. In 2001, she established The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the business to NRT for $66 million. Shortly thereafter she resigned from the company. Corcoran was one of ABC's first Shark investors has been part of each episode of Shark Tank. By February 2020, she had completed 53 deals. One of them was a purchase of $350,000 in Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence, her mother, was an exemplary household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father during Corcoran's early years. Her family depended sometimes on food deliveries from an artisanal local grocery store for free food. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who drank occasionally and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran struggled in school, and was later told that she was dyslexic. She went to a local Catholic elementary school, and then began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. After failing several classes during her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and received a grade of D.
